Pluracare® L1220 copolymer is soluble in water, in PEG-400,m in propylene glycol and in ethanol. It is insoluble in mineral oil and glycerin.Pluracare® L1220 is used as solubilizer for flavors and fragrances in aqueous and hydro-alcoholic systems, for instance mouthwashes. The chemical stability of the product makes it a strong candidate for gelling peroxide compositions such as tooth whitening gels. Often used in combination withPluracare® L4370 to form anhydrous bases for personal care formulations, including toothpastes; both products having neutral taste and enhance active ingredient in whitening efficacy while providing binding, retention to tooth surface. Mixing water withPluracare® L1220 forms a crystal clear, colorless gel.
